PrettyAndPolished Labour Of Love & Lost Sister

Pretty and Polished recently sent me a couple of mini bottles to say thank you for adding them to my ETSY post a while ago.  This is Labour of Love.

These swatches were 2 coats with one coat of Seche QD top coat.  LOL is a gorgeous Teal with lots of shimmer. Above pics were in natural sunlight and bottom pic in shaded light.

And this is Lost Sister. A less intense version of LOL with teeny tiny holo glitter. 2 coats in full sunlight.

And in shaded natural light.

So, what do you think of the colors?
You can buy these colors in their Etsy shop .

BYS Nail Candy & Nfu Oh

This is a gorgeous Summer color by BYS. It's quite murky looking in the bottle but comes out as a vibrant warm orange. This stinks to high heaven tho and my brush was skanky.....maybe which is why it was on sale for $2.
Two coats and pic was taken in shaded natural light.

And under artificial light. It lasted this was for a couple of days until I added a coat of Nfu-Oh 44.

Yum.

1940's Housewife

My fabulous 1940's house dress.
I don't normally 'do' pink, but this is more of a mauve.    You need to click to see the photo bigger, but the pockets are fabulous with each pointing into a sharp triangle.  It's also 70 years old, has a fabulous 40's floral pattern and it's in excellent condition.  And it only cost me $30.
Bargain much?

Excuse the belt.  First of all, it's horrid but it was the only blue belt in my wardrobe.  Second, it's off centre.....the husband never thinks to tell me these things.

For The Smaller Miss...5' 4" Tall Or Less

I recently purchased this dress from Mill Street Vintage on eBay because I thought it was pretty....but mainly cause the auction was almost ending and I got it for a song. I ended up buying another dress from her Etsy store so it all worked out about the same price in the end!

So, imagine my surprise when it arrived and I saw the tag!

That's me! At 4' 11" it is quite difficult to find clothes that have hems in the right spot, so to have this sit nicely was a bonus.

It is Christmas Eve here in Oz and this will be my last post for a few days.  See you soon and have fun!

Essence - The Dawn Is Broken

So when I heard that Target is now stocking Essence products, I hot-footed my little toodies down to my closest one.....but not quick enough....almost everything was gone! With no hope of a restock till after the New Year. Bummer.

I did get a few colors including this one from the Vampire Love collection called The Dawn Is Broken. It had been on my Lemmings list since I saw swatches from Nihrida's blog.

But, it's a grey. Which looks horrid on me. And the silver and navy glitter sparkle doesn't really look as pretty as what the bottle does. 2 coats.

You know it's time to chop your nails when the stamp is too small to cover them! Stamped with Warm Black Konad and finished with a coat of Seche QD.

So Awesome It Deserved A Video

I'm trying really hard to only purchase colors from collections that stand out, and that are not dupes to what I already own. I'm not really 'into' glitter a real lot, mainly because removal is a pain in the butt. But Marry A Millionaire by China Glaze caught my eye when it was released recently. Plus, 'How to Marry A Millionaire' is one of my favourite movies.

Above pics were 2 coats and taken in shaded natural light. The photo below is in full sunlight.

I may just have to put Marry a Millionaire into rotation for my widdle piggies.  (Don't worry Petunia Sparkles, YOU are my ultimate piggie polish and will always love you forever.)

And now Ladies and Gents, for your viewing pleasure...the twinkling gloriness that is Millionaire:

Essie Shine Of The Times

Yep, it's a dupe for Sally Hanson Hidden Treasure, Gosh Rainbow, Nubar 2010 and probably some Nfu-Oh, but who cares! We NEED them all!

One coat over Bloom Toni. A subtle effect.

One coat over Nerd Lacquer Just a Flesh Wound. This looked gorgeous.

One coat over PrettyandPolished Labor of Love.

And a coat over Essence Hard to Resist.

NERD LACQUER It's Just A Flesh Wound

This is the last color from my Nerd Lacquer haul.

IT’S JUST A FLESH WOUND, 2 coats. "A fierce black base with small and medium black, red, and copper hexagonal glitter, plus black and charcoal microglitter and big silver hex glitter." This required 3 coats (!!) of Seche Vite QD to become smooth.

Which colors did you guys order?

NERD LACQUER 'Spaaaace' Collection

Along with a couple of others from Nerd Lacquer, I also got the SPAAACE Collection. I am definitely looking forward to future collections from Amanda. I am going to use Amanda's descriptions for these 3 polishes as they do describe them way better than I ever could.

From Nerd Lacquer: "FROM SPAAAAAACE Series : a trio of ultra-sparkly ultra-dark shades with universal appeal. Super dramatic, loaded with multiple sizes of contrasting and holographic glitters, and saturated base colors deep enough to maximize the impact of the glitter but not so dark they appear black. It’s like wearing one of NASA’s photos-of-the-day on your fingers."

QUASAR, 2 coats. "A blackened pine green with holly green and silver glitter, olive and chartreuse microglitter, small and medium emerald hexagonal glitter, and generously spiked with fine and ultrafine holographic sparkles." This required 2 coats of Seche Vite QD to become smooth.

NEBULA, 2 coats. "A blackened fuchsia with red and silver glitter, red and fuchsia small and medium hexagonal glitter, iridescent glitter, small lavender glitter, and generously spiked with fine and ultrafine holographic sparkles". This also required 2 coats of Seche QD.

EVENT HORIZON, 2 coats. "A blackened teal with small and medium blue and turquoise hexagonal glitter, silver and iridescent glitter, plus bright blue microglitter, and generously spiked with fine and ultrafine holographic sparkles".

And a couple of bonus pics with Quasar and Event Horizon with a matte top coat.
