Shoes Day!

The Sexiest Man On The Planet bought me a dress on our Wedding Anniversary last week. He normally has zero say in what I wear, but this time he actually picked out something pretty good!

It came from a little Vintage/Repo/Reclaimed shop in Daylesford. I'm into Hawaiian prints at the moment so I am quite happy to sport this little number with some large Hawiian flowers and of course my glitter shoes!......

I can't tell you guys how much I love these shoes. If my house was burning down, I'd run back upstairs for these.   Carved lucite heels, gold metal sundae jars and spoons, and the ice-cream sundaes even have embedded rhinestones for sprinkles!

Bonus spin pic. Oh yeah!

The Man With The Golden Gun

OPI's The Man with the Golden Gun over a burgundy and Forest Green.  Each swatch was 2 coats of TMWTGG.  I did think this was going to be a more dense gold, 2 coats are needed for it to look any good....in my opinion.

My Vintage Purse Collection

I do like peering in at other's vintage collections and thought you may want to have a looksie at what purses I have acquired so far?

A box purse from JR of Miami with velveteen roses. Nobody ever looks at my clothes when I carry this, they just look at the bag.

This is the QUEEN of my collection: a sparkling gold lucite barrel purse. I plan on keeping this till the day I die.

A red, white and blue wicker purse from the 60's.

Another wicker purse from the 60's.  I have several of these for my 'everyday' bags.  They match absolutely ANY outfit.

Birdcage bamboo purse that I've attached some vintage 50's fruit sprigs onto.

Lucite weaved with floral pattern. This is an unusual lucite purse with it having a pattern.

Silver confetti Lucite purse with engraved lid. This is just big enough for a credit card, lipstick, mirror and comb!

Tortoiseshell Lucite purse.  This is great with my Winter outfits.

Do I really need to tell you all how awesomely kitsch this Strawberry purse is? People stop me to take photos of this purse. It's that wonderful.

This faux crocodile purse I found in the local Op shop for $4. It came with it's original corin purse and mirror still inside.

It's boring, but we all need a plain black purse don't we? This has an orange lucite twisted handle.

This one is BIG, modern and handy for the monthly Farmers Market where it get's loaded with fresh produce, pasta, chutney and flowers. Purchased locally from Bells Belle's Vintage.

I'm not sure how old this one is but I loved how it folds flat when not in use. Any suggestions on the age?

This 70's beaded purse was a present form my sister.

I purchased this as 60's but I think it may be more 70s / 80's. Tapestry sewn Hummingbird bag big enough for a bit of shopping or bathers and a towel for the beach.

And lastly, a cute little 50's purse that Miss 11 uses at Vintage Fairs. Only big enough to hold her coin purse and her ipod! It has makeup pictures on the front with some rhinestones and enamel.

Please link back to me if you know of any vintage collection blog posts.

CROWS TOES Last Call At The Crowbar

This one is super yummy.  Look at how dense this glitter is!  Dirty silver with red, aqua, black and gold glitters make this so freaking BLINGY and it's hard not to look at theem flashing away all the time.  This was 2 coats of Last Call and finished with a coat of Seche QD.

Bernie Dexter Country Cottage Dress

First of all, big thanks to Em from Miskonduct Clothing for ordering this in for me!

This patterned dress has been a trying time for me! Bernie first released this print with the sleeveless with circles back style, which I knew wouldn't flatter my shape but I bought anyway. It is now sitting in my 'to sell' pile.

Then this short sleeve 'Janis' style was released and I groaned inwardly, knowing I would have to get this one as well, and because the style would look so much better on me.

The style is much better *BUT* it is still 'not quite right'. The neck is so wide the shoulders fall off, and having to hitch them back up again every minute is very annoying. It doesn't look like it is meant to be on off the shoulder style, nor does Bernie say so in the dress description, so I am guessing it's just a wide necked style and depending on how wide your shoulders are, it's either fine or annoying.

At the moment I have the shoulders of the dress pinned to my bra straps! It makes it a little too low in the bust area for me, something higher would have suited my more modest inclinations.

All said and done, I LOVE this fabric and the boob cleavage, bra straps and shoulders falling down every other minute won't stop me from wearing this gorgeous dress.  I get loads of comments from it and HEAPS of stares....so it's an ego boosting outfit!

I would love to hear if anybody else has purchased this dress and how it fits.

I am in love with this 1940's copper cuff with Aztec carved stone. I bought it recently as a present to myself :)

CROWS TOES Frogs Breath & A GLITTER TIP!

Yes, it's still Crows Toes loving week!  Today's is Frogs Breath, a dense multi green hued and gold glitter.  No base coat color needed, and these photos are 2 coats.  Finished with a coat of Seche QD.

Glitter topcoat tip:  I only ever do one coat of Seche Quick Dry on my glitter manicures.  I can do this by pressing gently on all nails a couple of minutes after application.  This presses all the glitter down flat, making only one coat of top coat necessary.  Yes, it seems rather straight forward but lots of people go 'A-HA' whenever I tell them!

Silver Holographic Comparison

Hands up who has every Silver Holo on the market? Yeah, me too....almost. FNUG Psychadelic is coming up soon, but here is a quick comparison with the other 4 that I own.

Left to Right: Jade Psicodelica, Layla Mercury Twilight, Gosh Holographic and China Glaze OMG.

Jade and Gosh are 3 coats while Layla and ChG are 2 coats.

*As you can see, Gosh has the most rainbow bling of them all.
*Jade is a thin, watery holographic and 4 coats to become nicely opaque.  Layering this over a silver base coat would cut down on the coats needed.
*Jade and Layla have a 'scattered holo' effect, whereas Gosh and ChG have a linear effect.
*My favourite is the linear with Gosh as my most used color.  Apparently the Chanel silver holo is pretty much identical to Gosh.

Hope this helps someone picking their most prefered silver holo!

Lustables!

This gloriously divine hat.  It's too expensive for me at $150, but it would look soooo good perched on my head.

The Illamasqua Sangers lip set.

Hans Solo phone case!  Die!

If I ever saw something like this in real life......I think I would drop in a dead faint from the excitement of it all.

Stuff the kids....I want this staircase!

I want to get married again so I can have bridesmaids wearing cowboy boots.

And speaking of cowboy boots.....these ones are particularly divine.
Still speaking of cowboy boots......

*cough* I'll have one of each *cough*
