Vintage Couture + Cupcakes
I got a few new fauxnad plates yesterday and got one strictly for it's cupcake design! The base is 3 coats of Vintage Couture, the forumla is streaky and thin and 3 coats barely got it streak free and smooth..ugh. Then Konad-ed with Chocolate Brown and red glitter. One coat of Seche QD.
One another note, I drove 3 hours to go to my nearest Ikea today with one mission in mind...to buy a Helmer!! They are so darn cute! BUT..I had to walk out of the store without one...on PRINCIPLE! These drawer units are $39.99 in America and Europe but in Australia they are $119.00! Can you believe it?? No way was I going to pay that ripoff amount of money. Now can you see how much us Aussies have to fork out over and beyond the rest of you guys? I could start with $19 OPI, $15 China Glaze, $30 Nfu-Oh, $18 Orly, $13 Loreal.....but I won't because this post would go on forever.
Grumble, grumble. :)

Here's to you, Mrs. Robinson.....
This color is divine, I'm loving my nails today! This is 3 coats of Color Club's Mrs. Robinson with Fashion Addict holographic KOnading, which is giving a nice rainbow shimmer in the light. Only problem is my camera cannot capture the true color, which is similar to China Glaze's Flying Dragon without the glitter. My pics look pink whereas Mrs R is a magenta purple, not pink at all...sorry. One coat of Seche QD makes this a super glossy manicure.

Lubu Heels
This is 2 coats of Lubu heels by China Glaze, which as everyone knows is a black base with red glitter.
I just received OPI polish remover in the mail and it removes glitter instantly, the stuff is amazing!
I thought it looked rather vampy but I wanted it off to try something new so I quickly stamped a Pirate / Twilight-y theme to amuse myself, then removed it with that awesome OPI magic!

Jade is the New Black?
Sorry peoples, I can't see the hype! It's a nice color but....I just didn't get excited once I put it on. In my humble opinion NOTHING beats black! Except maybe black with some awesome glitter included! Anyway, this was 2 coats and is wonderfully glossy. I then Konad stamped it with China Glaze Metallic Muse.
My nails were getting a little long for my liking, I find it hard to work properly with my torch flame if I have talons, so I filed my nails shorter in a square shape for the first time ever. Have I done a good enough job, any tips for me?
Naomi used China Glaze Sweet Cream for this manicure with Metallic Muse Konading. For those that haven't yet heard, China Glaze Khrome collection is perfect for stamping. Thx for the pic Nomes!

Bermuda Breakaway & Nfu-Oh
Picture heavy, this is one of those mani's that you can't capture the color of correctly. Today's is 2 coats of China Glaze Bermuda Breakaway, which is a gorgeous shade of blue and I love it to bits. But because I just CANNOT wear a straight color, I layered 2 coats of Nfu-Oh #40 to transform it into a beautiful shimmering mermaid's tail blue!
The flakies change from blue to green depending on light. The first pic shows the closest to the true color of Bermuda Breakaway and the rest is just TRYING to capture the flakies sparkle.
I am now on a flakie binge, I just purchased Gosh Rainbow on ebay for an extremely inflatable price of 10 GBP or approx $16 AUD, when it's currently on sale in Superdrug for 2.50 GBP.....I HATE paying these prices but what can we do if we live in a Country no one wants to ship to?? Diamond Cosmetics, Gosh, Zoya and all you others....why is shipping a little bottle of polish so HARD for you?? Sheesh....

Saga of a Bloom
How do you end up with 8 layers of polish for one mani? Like this....
Start with one layer of base coat, add 2 coats of Aussie brand polish Bloom in 'Adelaide', which is a vampy dark red with lots of teeny weeny glitter and you get this;
Nice, huh?
But then I decided to add 2 coats of Gold holographic top coat I found on sale in Priceline, brand is Northern Lights and they claim to be "USA's Number 1 top coat and fastest drying" (is this true my American readers?? I've never heard of this brand before.) And the result is this:
A wonderful glitter in the sun but in my opinion it's boring so I decided to add 2 coats of Nfu-Oh #58 flakies of course!! With one coat of Seche QD. At the moment it's this:
Isn't it wonderful??! I have tried to capture the true color but the picture is flat compared to real life. It's super shiny and BLINGY and the most divine shade of Vamp wih alternating shades of Coral to Orange to a beetle back yellow/green.
I then thought I might Matte-ify it with some CG Matte Magic but changed my mind after one nail turned out like this:
So I quickly Seche'd that fingernail again back to super glossy wonderfulness! So technically my fingers have 8 layers with one nail having 10 layers...I'm expecting them to peel off at any moment!
I WAS thinking of some 2030 Gold Konading.....but sometimes you have to let things be and just revel in a gorgeous shade for a few days....don't you??

Lemon Fizz
The weather has been unseasonably warm for this time of year and I felt like something Spring-ish, so went for China Glaze Lemon Fizz. Coincidently, I put Orly Lemonade on my other hand and there is absolutely NO difference in color. Violet Pearl Konading. I went out this morning and had a few comments, a couple of these from little kids in the playground who thought it was 'pwetty'!

Fashion Addict
Naomi chose Fashion Addict and then she stamped the 2 snowflakes from plate M59 with Black Pearl Konad. This color is horrible to photograph, it's just all shiny with no rainbow color but IRL it's gorgeous and blingy. She wouldnt let me add dots or stars but I managed to swipe on a bit of silver glitter in the middle of the snowflakes!

Cherry Pop!
This is my first tips mani. My nails are still not long or even enough for a 'proper' looking one and I am undecided on whether I like it or not.....hubby hasn't raved over my nails like he usually does so I know he doesn't think much of it.
On the tips is Hypnotise black by JayJays which truly is awesome, thick and blacker than black in one thin coat. Cherry Pop by Essie over the top and then white Konading and silver glitter in the middle of the flowers. One coat of Seche QD.

Susie's giveaway
For Audrey
Finally got around to using my For Audrey by China Glaze. This was a color I wasn't too sure about, but everyone's reviews on it were great and for only $2.60..whatcha gonna do??!
It applied rather streakily, goopily and very thickly, did I get a bad bottle? It took a good hour to dry of only 2 coats...not overly impressed with the formula but the color is gorgeous. This is stamped with Red Konad.

Taxi Cab!
OK, this one is cheesy and looks like death on my nails but I had to try it once! For you Mum, go catch those New York Taxis!
This is a base of New York Summer Hush, which needed 4 coats to become opaque and non streaky. It was horrible to apply and I'm loathe to use it again. Instead I have ordered CG Happy go Lucky to see if that's any better. Black Pearl Konading.....a very bad go at it this time I'm afraid. It's coming off tonight!!
Thanks Susie for blogging about my link and taking me out of no-man's land! Kiss kiss.

Holidays
While on hol's in QLD I picked up some $1 bargains. This is one of them by Be Beautiful called Outer Space, a dark silver glitter, on Amy's nails. 2030 by China Glaze Konading.
And this is mine, a previously untested Essie color called Jelly Apple, which is a lovely, true Minnie red. It applied nice and thinkly and perfect after 2 coats.
Mum's Nails
I have just come back from visiting the oldies in Queensland and Mum wanted a Konadicure every second day...told you it was cool Ma!
Here is her first, China Glaze BFF, second day of wear so it's slightly chipped. Nail polish does not like to stay on Mum's fingers.
Here is number 2, Cotton Candy by BYS which is a CRAP polish. It was gluggy and thick and just horrible. It peeled off completely after one day of wear. With geometrical Black Pearl Konading. I thought this one looked great!
And the last one she managed to fit in! No names on these ultra cheap polishes by Groove, it's just ot number 12 on the bottom! Stamped with 2030 by China Glaze.

Nfu-Oh #40
No Konad for this mani as I couldn't bear to stamp anything over my shiny goodness! This is Nfu-Oh #40 over Hypnotise by Jay Jay's. 2 coats of Nfu provide lots of flakies, I have found 3 coats takes hours to dry. Depending on which way the light hits my nails, they shine Emerald or a deep Cerulean Blue....very cool!
I then matte-ified them with CG Matte Magic and the sparkle popped out 3 fold, it really is quite awesome!

Wild at Heart
This is Color Clubs Wild at heart, showing only some of it's gorgeous holo. I added some nail stickers ove the top and after 2 coats of Seche QD, they are smooth with the nail.
My sister Amy is staying a few days so here is manicure number 1 for her. Flushed by BYS as a base then Konad dark olive designs.
