Recent Thrifty Finds

I haven't had a thrifty finds post for awhile. In the last few weeks I haven't had much time to go looking, and when I did go looking...there was nothing to be found!

Instead I cleaned out our wardrobes, toy boxes and kitchen cupboards and donated quite a lot of 'stuff' to several shops instead. I like to spread my 'stuff' around to several stores instead of leaving everything at one place.....I call it sharing the love!

Anything novelty sucks me right in. I collect novelty printed clothing and anything kitsch. So when I saw this Japan Anthromophoric apple tea set.....it HAD to be mine. This was not a thrift/op shop find but a find on Facebook. The price I paid for it is what the average price the teapot is going for on eBay. So I am a very conceited little Apple over this purchase.

Another Japanese painted item, this time a candlestick from the 30's in mint condition for $5.

Squee! Isn't this little pixie divine? He is actually a bell! 50's kitsch was too cute!

Another 60s wicker purse to add to my purse collection. $5

A 50s/60s needlepoint coin purse in mint condition. 20c

A modern apothecary embossed jar for $5. It's tall enough for spaghetti but I'll probably use it for lollies!

A Moorcroft plate for....wait for it.....FREE!! The Sexiest Man found it ina pile of rubbish!

And lastly, this awesome 60's leopard coat for $25. It needs a bit of work, but it looks like it could be worth it.

What bargains have you vintage queens discovered?

  2. Wow what awesome and kitschy finds. The jacket has to be my favorite. A few weeks ago a found a pair of gloves with original tags and care instructions for 50 cents. I also got a two toned bake lite bracelet for $1. I've had great luck with vintage accessories.

  5. You find such tremendously awesome vintage items, dear gal. Your apple tea set is, on no uncertain terms, just about as adorable as a tea set could possibly ever be!!!

  6. Moorcroft!!! I can't believe someone would be throwing it away! I totally adore all Moorcroft porcelain and that particular plate would have to fetch over $100 even if it is likely to be a modern Moorcroft piece. Probably around the 1980's vintage.
