I'm on the color shift pigment bandwagon and this is attempt number one.
I made a few at a time so I am not 100% what formula this is. It is either Avon Vintage Vamp or Mode Mulberry, some clear and a few tiny scoopfuls of the red/ green pigment from More Nail Polish. The above photos are taken in the shade with no flash. The photos below are in sunlight with a flash.
It does have a color shift.....but only in the right light and if I stick my tongue out at the right time while hopping on one leg.
I'm still playing, more test results later!

Growing a Moustache for Movember
My Dad is supporting Movember by growing a moustache. Please support his growing efforts and the 3,300 men who will die of prostate cancer and the one in eight men who will experience depression in their lifetime.
Any donation, no matter how small can be made at the following link; http://mobro.co/parapower
This blog has never solicited or asked for donations of any kind before, but this is a subject close to my Family's heart. Thank you everyone, it means a lot just to have you all read this message.

Movember - a global movement Since its humble beginnings in Melbourne Australia, Movember has grown to become a truly global movement inspiring more than 1.1 Million Mo Bros and Mo Sistas to participate, with formal campaigns in Australia, New Zealand, the US, Canada, the UK, Finland, the Netherlands, Spain, South Africa and Ireland. In addition, Movember is aware of Mo Bros and Mo Sistas supporting the campaign and men’s health cause right across the globe, from Russia to Dubai, Hong Kong to Antarctica, Rio de Janeiro to Mumbai, and everywhere in between.
No matter the country or city, Movember will continue to work to change established habits and attitudes men have about their health, to educate men about the health risks they face, getting them to act on that knowledge, thereby increasing the chances of early detection, diagnosis and effective treatment.
In 2010, over 130,000 Australian Mo Bros and Sistas got on board, raising $25 Million AUD.

About the Campaign
During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces in Australia and around the world. The aim of which is to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and depression in men.
On Movember 1st, guys register at Movember.com with a clean-shaven face and then for the rest of the month, these selfless and generous men, known as Mo Bros, groom, trim and wax their way into the annals of fine moustachery. Supported by the women in their lives, Mo Sistas, Movember Mo Bros raise funds by seeking out sponsorship for their Mo growing efforts.
Mo Bros effectively become walking, talking billboards for the 30 days of November and through their actions and words raise awareness by prompting private and public conversation around the often ignored issue of men’s health.
At the end of the month, Mo Bros and their female supporters (known as Mo Sistas) celebrate their gallantry and valor by either throwing their own Movember party or attending one of the infamous Gala Partés held around the world by Movember, for Movember.
The Movember Effect: Awareness, Education, Survivorship, Research
The funds raised in Australia support equally the two biggest health issues men face – prostate cancer and depression. The funds raised are directed to programs run directly by Movember and our men’s health partners, the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and beyondblue: the national depression initiative. Together, the three channels work together to ensure that Movember funds are supporting a broad range of innovative, world-class programs in line with our strategic goals, in the areas of awareness and education, survivorship and research.

New MODE Glitters
I am unsure how long these have been out for as I only just found them last week. I also cannot find any new colors other than these, so am guessing it's a new glitter line...any other Aussies have any info?
All colors are PACKED full of glitter in a jelly base. I only had cotton balls at my disposal out camping so I had a mongrel of a time trying to remove them after swatching each one. Please excuse the messy cuticles.
Again, I am super impressed at how Mode can churn these babies out at only $2.45 FULL PRICE or 2 for $4.
Vicious Venom, 2 coats. Even the name is awesome!
Rock Me Sweet, 2 coats. This was hard to photograph as all bright Magenta Fuschias are.
Kiss and Tell, 2 coats. This is a bright Candy Apple red jelly.
Gothic Crown, 2 coats. Move over Knight's Armour....this one has a serious claim to being the most awesome black with silver glitter on the market. This color is literally PACKED with glitter.
There was also a silver glitter which I didn't purchase due to having a few silvers already. They were displayed with Diamonte which has been released for a long time, but it matched the rest with it's silver and gold holo glitter.
Who else has picked them up?

Nail Technician Extraordinaire
I'm back! Miss me?!
While holidaying in QLD, the oldies decided to take the family camping for 3 days. In dirt. And then it rained. So it was mud. The camping showers had no hot water so we had a very.cold.shower.
But we had fire and marshmallows, the kids didn't kill themselves, and the drunk yobbos shut up around midnight each night, so we all had a hearty 4 hours sleep before the competition fly fisherman surrounding us set off for the day, revving cars, dragging boats and yelling to each other at 4am.
While there Miss 3 wanted to paint nails. Aunty Amy and Uncle Andrew were the only volunteers who kindly allowed her to paint their toe nails, so here is Miss 3 in professional nail painting mode.
She took it VERY seriously and took her time to do a truly 'eggscellent' job.
The end result?
Beautiful!
But Aunty Amy didn't leave it on for very long...and apparently it stained, leaving her with Zombie toes.
Uncle Andrew on the other hand was a trooper and didn't take his off...even when we went to the park and out for lunch...in public. But by the time Miss 3 got to his toes, she was a master at it and it actually looked quite good. (Truth: he actually forgot all about it until I pointed out his sparkling black glitter toes halfway thru our Pub lunch surrounded by big, burly tattooed motorbikers.)
Lots of swatching was done cramped under an awning with 11 other people so I am loaded up with pictures ready to post in the next couple of days...including NEW Modes!

China Glaze Life Preserver.....70's Style
This is the shade of Orange that would suit every skintone. It's on the slightly burnt side but with lots of POP.
This is 2 coats and it just glided on nicely. Stamped with Yellow Konad and finished with a coat of Seche QD.
(That yellow around my cuticles is NOT there in real life....silly Macro)
I've done this pattern before, I love how it reminds me of my Mum's dinner ware we had while I was growing up. It was pretty much this shade of Orange with this exact yellow pattern!

OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui
I can't believe this has been sitting untried in my drawers since.....forever! Obviously I didn't realise how gorgeous this was, and how I had been searching for this exact shade for MONTHS! Dur Carli!
2 coats, just
2 coats with a coat of Seche QD. Just ignore the little bald patch that you can't see in real life but Macro magnifies on my little finger. First 2 pics are inside, last pic is in natural sunlight.
No stamping cause it's just too yummy.

A Few Vintage Looks
A new acquisition which I promptly purchased. It's almost impossible to find long sleeve cupcake style dresses in my size. Bonus points: it is RED, which is my staple wardrobe color.
Dress: Jumbleaya, Etsy
Shoes: London Rebel
Apple Belt: ASOS
Miss 3's Dress: Mini Minors
Hair butterflies: Etsy
This was just a quick dash down the street outfit, no hair styling I'm afraid. Two people asked me if I had just been to a Rock n Roll dance lesson....so I am not sure if I'll be wearing this skirt again.
Skirt: 50's circle with matching orange crinoline underneath, Ebay.
Top: Retail
Shoes: Miss L Fire
Necklace: Me
I have featured this dress before but I wore it again recently and just love it to pieces. This is my Little Red Riding Hood Outfit and hopefully I'll still be wearing it when I'm 80. Bernie has just released another version of this dress which is exclusive to Modcloth.
(Disclaimer: **Miss 10 took these photos and altho I look like I've eaten a lemon, they were the best in a bunch!**)
Dress: Bernie Dexter
Bolero: Retail
Belt: 50's repo, Etsy
Shoes: Irregular Choice
Hair Flowers: Dynamite-Darlin, eBay.
And another sucked lemon shot.....I think I was telling her to hurry up or else I was going to fall over. I could only find one shoe, Miss 3 has scarpered off osmewhere with the other one, so this is me doing the Flamingo.
This 60's brocade has a slight bubble skirted style which I don't mind at all, probably because I picked it up a few days ago at a bargain price of $35. It looks unworn and is still stiff which makes me think Deadstock.
Dress: 1960's Brocade from Round She Goes Preloved Fair, Melbourne
Shoes: Mollini
Hair flower: Dynamite-Darlin, eBay.
This was another cheap buy at $30. It's completely sheer tho and requires a full slip as well as my frilly crinoline. Me no likey. Hello eBay!
Dress: 50's sheer shirtwaist. Maybe even 40's?
Shoes: K-Mart
Hair Flower: Round She Goes Preloved Market

Red
A few recent Red swatches.
Zoya Kimmy, 2 coats. First picture sunlight, second picture artificial light.
I have only ever used my Sally Hansen Chromes for stamping. They are quite old and on the slightly thick side, but I thought I would mani these up the once for you all.
Burmese Ruby, 2 coats.
Carnelian Chrome, 2 coats.
China Glaze Ruby Pumps, Vintage style. 2 coats.
I am away visiting the oldies in Queensland for the next week. I have scheduled a couple of posts but there won't be the daily updates till I get back. Have fun honeybuns and don't miss me too much!

Rainbow Nails
I thought Miss 3 was a color genius when she requested Rainbow Nails yesterday.
I was in a "which color do I FEEL like today?" rut and as soon as she said Rainbow nails, I knew I wanted the same thing!
Plus, it matched my outfit I happened to be wearing.
Colors I used were Color Club Almost Famous, China Glaze Heli-Yum, Catrice I Scream Peach, China Glaze For Audrey and Mode Party Crasher. All were 2 coats.
Just a little bit of stamping!
I love these chubby little fingers!
My Rainbow Look
And Miss 3's Rainbow Look. Apparently that's what I look like, according to her.

ChG Ingrid & Hidden Treasure
Still on my little flakies kick, this time pulling out Hidden Treasure by Sally Hansen.
Ingrid by China Glaze is a gorgeous dark Taupe with Bronze/Gold shimmer. This was 2 coats.
You can see the green flash above. Love it how it starts at green, then goes to yellow and finishes with hot orange.
No matte-ifying this one, it's nice enough shiny!
