L.A Colors Merlot
From my recent Cherry Culture haul, this is a new one from L.A Colors. I don't usually have much luck with this brand as it is only available to me in Oz from CC and the swatches are deplorable. This is the first color I have ordered that is actually a keeper. The color is glorious and reminds me of a darker version of Zoya Faye.
This was 2 coats. I stamped with Light Pink Konad and finished with 1 coat of Seche QD. First pic is at night under artificial light, second is in natural light.
Lovely, no?

Milani Flash Light
I've had more comments on this mani than any other since my Color Club Neon Cheetah. Milani Flash Light is a gorgeous color and I'm so glad I decided to add it to my Cherry Culture shopping cart even tho the swatch pic looked horrible.
This was 2 coats with Yellow Konading. One coat of Seche QD to finish. The color reminded me of the 70's so I pulled out the retro flowers Konad plate. It takes me back to my childhood to when Mum had 70's storage containers in this shade of Orange with the almost same yellow flowers on them!
First photo under artificial light, second in natural light and no flash.

Missha HBK01
It's all Stef's fault. She made me.
This is 2 coats of Missha, which is a black filled holographic micro glitter. Look at the bottle....then look at my nails. As you can see the bottle color didn't translate onto the nails which is a serious bummer. And even more of a bummer that it cost $11.50 AUD just for another black with glitter. And that was on sale, the usual price is $17.
But I turned my sad upside down by Konading with China Glaze LbR G8R...a TRUE holo! Finished with 1 coat of Seche QD. First 2 photos are under artificial light, last is under natural light and no flash.

USA Shipping Rant
I'm quite angry typing this because once again, my USA bound parcel has been returned due to it containing nail polish. USA have stepped up their security scanning procedures and consequently we, here in Australia, have to pay an extra $9 per USA bound parcel for that. Yes, basically we are paying the postal workers EXTRA to do their job *properly*.
Since this extra procedure has been implemented I have not successfuly been able to complete a swap or send on nail polishes to my USA buddies as all my parcels have been returned. I'm angry because each parcel costs me an average of $45 to ship. And when a parcel gets returned, my money doesn't get refunded. So on top of the money paid out for the stock insides the parcel and original shipping costs, I am out of pocket at least $100.....each and every time.
But get this, all you USA people can send us here in Australia NAIL POLISH!! We just can't send it to YOU! So it's OK for the Australia Post planes maybe getting blown up due to a teeny tiny bottle of nail polish, but definitely not OK for a USPS plane....rationality and hypocrisy be damned.
So, at this time I am sorry to say that I cannot participate in a swap to anyone in the USA. The rest of the world is fine for me to ship polishes to.
If any of my Aussie followers has any shipping advice for me I would be most appreciated to hear it.

Mode Bahama
I have another gem from Mode this morning. Mode rocks the Aussie nail polish world as far as I'm concerned. They have a huge range of colors, each one is different to what is already on the market and I have found that they stand alone color wise in my collection.
Take Bahama for instance. Not only is it a brilliant almost Metallic Fire Engine Red, but it shimmers almost gold. Scrumptious.
This was 2 coats. I added Fire style design Konading in Yellow as today I am hosting a Victorian glass artists meeting at my house. Raspberry Cheesecake with dollops of cream anyone?
Outside in natural sunlight, no flash.
I finished it with 1 coat of Seche QD. Have a good weekend everyone!

Melbourne Vintage Show HAUL (Insert Evil Laugh Here)
Please remember that dear husband was with me all day so the haul is not as big as it *might* have been had he not been there. The cardi was a bonus, it was too expensive for me to justify but The Sexiest Man On The Planet said that it was ME and I have to buy it. Yeah, he's a keeper.
This gorgeous beaded cardi I got from Nicole at Circa Vintage Clothing. I have a few of them now but didn't have one in beige, so this fits the bill nicely. It's also nice to know that this cardigan is featured in Nicole's book 'Love Vintage' so I guess you can say it's a little bit famous! It's also in excellent condition with only very minimal bead loss on the cuffs.
A lucite purse! It's grotty here but it cleaned up not too bad. The rhinestones are all original and intact and the hardware has not rusted. A bargain at $50, especially seeing as I saw one almost similar on Etsy for $245.
A Memsahib hat/fascinator by Australian designer Katerina Miaoulis. I emailed her and she dated this hat to Autumn 2005 from her 'Fanfare' collection which was photographed by Karl Lagerfield. Originally it was in the hundreds of dollars mark, so it was a super bargain at only $38! It looks super posh on...altho I have no idea where or when I will actually wear it...it looks awesome on tho!
A 60's beaded belt for $30, a pair of celluloid yellow roses with rhinestones for $10 and some more setting lotion from The Lindy Charm School girlies.
We got a lucky door prize of A Life In Frocks book which I've only started reading and I picked up the latest copy of The Op Shop Guide, which will sit in the car as you never know when it might come in handy!
So, how did I wear my new lovelies?
With a full circle black dress, puffy gold petticoat and matching gold brocade rhinestone shoes!

The Melbourne Love Vintage Show
On the weekend Melbourne held it's very first 'Love Vintage' Fair which was very exciting. I do several Melbourne shows a year with my glasswork and I can say with some limited experience that this Show was extremely well organised. The 50 Exhibitiors had fantastic stock, the fashion parade from Circa Vintage Clothing was entertaining and the layout was easy to navigate. As a bonus you could get your hair and makeup done in Vintage style by The Lindy Charm School for only $25!
The Sexiest Man On The Planet looking.....well, sexy. He's so cute, he got his photo taken several times by other stall holders and customers. He was feeling a bit special.
A quick family shot of us..the best that we could get with a fidgeting Miss 3.
Onto the Fashion Parade photos! The sun was shining right at us, making photo taking a nightmare. Please click on the pics to see them in full size and a lot clearer.
If only we could all look like this when we pop off to bed!
The very lush Fiona.
I Love this whole look. I love her hair, face and dress. It's more 30's style and wouldn't suit me but ideally I would love this haircut.
The sexy Luxe. The husband got nudged a few times in the ribs whenever Luxe came onto the stage.
Initially you think this 40's nurse's uniform is a bit drab....but after thinking about it, it's got a nipped in waist and a semi plunged neckline, which with the right boobs and some Victory Rolls would have been very appealing to the poor old soldiers getting fixed.
Love this shot!
And love, love, love this dress Ezther is modelling. Very ME and I want it badly...just need a 24" waist.
This dress was beautiful IRL and looked gorgeous on. It sashed up on the bottom and you could faintly see the red lining underneath. The husband's and my best pick for the parade.
Candice working that bottom in that super sexy cheetah print swimsuit! I hope she bought it afterward cause it looked great!
Cinderella off to the ball.
Not my Era but doesn't she look FAB?
All this and many more...I didn't want to overload Blogger with all my photos!
So, what bargains did I get? You will have to wait till tomorrow!
I apologise to all my non Vintage followers but this is everything but nail polish week as I still don't want to remove my super blingy in-ya-face gold glitter! 4 days and no tipwear at all!
