Cult Nails Captivated

This was 3 coats of Cult Nails Captivated. Wonderfully sparkly and almost UV shiny in the dark!
Finished with a coat of Seche QD as this was never gonna dry.
I'd love to see a dark green in this....hint, hint Maria!

Jessica Best Actress

I have sooooo many untrieds, I really should do an All Lacquered Up project and get thru them all. I don't have 365 of them tho.

This is Jessica, Best Actress. I don't know much about this brand and wasn't aware it was available in Australia until I found a little hairdresser in Bendigo with a bin full of them. I rummaged thru and got half a dozen as they were priced at only $2.50.

Two coats, first picture in full sunlight and second picture is under artificial light. It's a Berry Red with micro fuschia and silver sparkle. Pretty color but not a drop dead 'absolutely mah-vellous darling' color.

I added a coat of Milani Gems. The photos don't show it as spectacularly wonderful but it was a very pretty mani that generated a few comments.

I apologise that my mani's are not spectacularly creative lately. My stamping mojo is not as strong lately....the freezing cold Winter has made me a lazy bum. I hope to get creative again soon!

Wet n Wild Morbid

Thanks to all the well wishes from all you lovelies when I expressed concern that I was getting sick! I did get sick. I spent 2 days in bed sweating, achy and a throat so infected it closed right up. I'm now on antibiotics after being taken to the ER yesterday morning by a husband who said enough was enough! Us women like to tough things out (2 natural childbirths anyone???!) but I did start to feel better after a couple of doses of good old penicillin.

This manicure was done just before I got sickly and it looked down right sickly as well. Not one of my fav's but since I have nothing else, it's getting posted.

This is 2 coats of Wet n Wild Morbid, a blackened dark green. Gorgeous color but on my nails it just looked like a murky black with no shine to it. It looked even worse after I added Yellow Konad stamping to it!

What was I thinking? It must have been all that bad bacteria in my system waiting to launch it's full attack......must have been.

Nail Prisms Pink Rose Diamond

I scored some Sally Hansen Nail Prisms last week for $3 in a clearance bin and have Pink Rose Diamond for you all today.

The formula is sheer so 3 coats were needed. Lookee at that gorgeous pink holo.

I decided to jazz it up a little by painting my ring finger black and stamping it with Hot Pink Konad. As you can see, it didn't turn out very well! Warm Black Konad on all other fingers and finished with a coat of Seche QD.

I'm not feeling very well so I may be MIA for a couple of days. I think I have the dreaded flu that's sending heaps to people to hospital with pneumonia.....but let's knock on wood.

Cult Nails Let Me Fly

Cult Nails Let me Fly, 2 coats. This color really doesn't blow me out of the water, I think it looks rather Blah on me actually...but maybe I'm getting a little jaded. Whenever new colors come out I now expect them to be out of the box and completely different to what's already on the market, so I get a little bummed when they aren't. The subtle shimmer is what sets this one apart from every other Teal out there tho.

I tried stamping color on color with China Glaze DV8, but as you can see that didn't turn out very well! This manicure didn't last very long...it all just sucked actually!

OPI Cajun Shrimp

Happy Sunday morning! It's dark and freezing here and 9am looks like 5am...making it extremely difficult to get out of bed when Miss 3 demands breakfast at 7:30.

OPI Cajun Shrimp is a polish I have always had but never tried until now. I do have several colors in this shade so it's no standout, but the formula was perfect with 2 coats.

I stamped with Konad white and added 1 coat of Chimera Quick Dry.

Off to cook some porridge! BBRRRRR!

Cult Nails Iconic

Iconic reminds me of a slightly darker version of Barielle's Elle Spell. The first coat was a bit of a letdown as the flakies did not translate at all, but after the second coat all became good as the flakies became much more noticeable. This is no OPI Merry Midnight or Nfu-Oh flakie polish, the flakies are understated in Iconic but they are a subtle enhancement to the rich Berry color. First 2 photos are in natural sunlight and no flash. Last picture is artificial light and flash.

This was 2 coats and Konaded with China Glaze 2030. Finished with 1 coat of Seche QD.

Have a great weekend!

Milani In A Flash

I am so kicking myself I just didn't buy the whole lot of these Flashes by Milani in my last Cherry Culture order. Damn their stupid swatches!

Two coats and stamped with Yellow Konad. 1 coat of Seche QD to finish.  The iridescent shine on these colors are amazing, and in the sun they are almost blinding!

Yum yum.  What other Flashes must I add to my next CC basket?

On another subject....I'm addicted to these things...they way they melt on the roof of my mouth then leave behine a chewy meringue centre......someone please organise an intervention before I explode from sugar overload....

Mama's Got A Brand New Bag!

Warning: Vintage peeps, you will be jealous. BIG TIME.
Sorry.

This is my bargain of the decade. I say decade because I really can't remember the last time I scored so wonderfully well on something I love so much.

The details: A 1950's lucite purse / handbag. This is special because not only is it in a rarer barrel shape, but it's GOLD glitter and sparkly!   Click on the pics to see it in all her glory!

The lady I purchased it from said her Mother originally bought it in Paris in the 50's and promptly put it into the wardrobe as she loved it too much to use. It's in almost mint condition. 'Almost' because the woman who sold it to me dropped it a few days before I got it, causing a crack to form around one of the handles.   DOH!  Otherwise, it's in perfect condition without even any wear to the feet on the bottom.  When she named her price I almost dropped dead.

How much?? $25!!!

Pants: Tara Starlet
Top: $4 from K-mart
Brogues: Wittner
Assorted bakelite sourced from e-Bay
Hair flower: Dynamite-darlin on e-Bay
Lippie: MAC Ruby Woo

Blue Monday

I decided to swatch some of the untrieds from my blues stash.  Only problem is, I did this late at night so my photos are not the best quality.  I have had to include a few fuzzy ones to show the true colors.

L.A Girl Matte Blue Twilight. Two coats. First pic shows the true color of this denim colored matte, second shows how unforgiving this polish is!! It shows every lump, bump and brush stroke.

Asian polish, Lucidarling. No name on bottle but from memory the ebay seller listed it as Indigo. It's a metallic foil, nothing special. Two coats.

L.A Girl Metal, Alkaline Blue. The bottle shows a mettalic Indigo blue flashing a deep purple and it's gorgeous. The purple flash translates a little onto the nail, you can see on the edges a faint purple flash. Two coats.

CCUK Midnight Blue. I had never heard of or seen this brand before I found them in a Priceattack hairdressers. This was the nicest of the poor selection they had. Bordering on black save for the Navy sparkle which you can just see. Much nicer IRL. Two coats.

Orly Lunar Eclipse. Much more interesting in the bottle than on the nail I'm afraid. Second phtoto shows the true color.  I desperately wanted to love this one but I much prefer my L.A Girl Alkaline Blue. Two coats.

It's a public holiday here today which means kids home from school and general chaos all round. It is nice not having to get up and be ready to run out the door by 8:30, so we are all sitting around in our pj's!
Have fun everyone!
