The Linen Cupboard

THE most embarassing cupboard in the whole house right? The one cupboard that we do NOT want out guests to open by mistake because they all look something like mine:

Or after reading A Thrifty Mrs blog post on storage last week, my cupboard USED to look like that!

The problem was the sheets. They just don't stack nicely. The fitted sheets just don't fold properly either. And it's Miss 10's job to fold the washing so the sheets often just get tossed onto the shelves and the doors banged shut before they fall down.  Everytime I opened the doors I felt depressed and thought that it was just too much to tackle today, I'll worry about that tomorrow (as Scarlet O'Hara says) so I just closed the doors again.

A Thrifty Mrs Tip? To store the sheets INSIDE the pillow case! I know.....so freaking simple right??? But how come I never thought of this before?    DOH!

The sheets in progress.....

And the finished result. I got more room on the shelves because everything was stacked neatly, and my bath towels actually were able to be stacked properly inside of teetering on the edge.  The floor is free from towels and crap in general.  The very top shelf is even bare!

The best part? This took me only half an hour to do.    So nobody really has any excuse NOT to have a neatly stacked linen cupboard.  Just imagine what it could have looked like if I had spent an hour in there!

Please check out A Thrifty Mrs blog as she is a pure genuis in the handy tips department.  A latest post is all about vinegar and the uses in the home.  And what you can use old toothbrushes for!  She even recently did several posts on how to bid on eBay.

So, who is going to restack their cupboards this weekend???!

Pretty & Polished JAWBREAKER

OK, I know I have said it a lot lately but, THIS is my NEW favourite polish! I am addicted to white colored polishes lately and this one tops the pops for the best-est. Chel from Pretty and Polished says Jawbreaker is a white base splattered with the best original jawbreaker colors! This polish has a sheer white base that can become opaque with just two nice layers. Packed with blue, green, yellow, red, and purple glitters in all different shapes and sizes!

This was 2 coats with a coat of Seche QD. I am soooooooo glad I got the fullsize bottle with my last order because this color goes super quick whenever the store reopens. Chel takes custom orders tho which is FAB.

Pretty and Polished is a sponsor for my awesome 3,000 follower giveaway. Thanks again Chel!

Recent Vintage Finds

I found a gorgeous 50's lambswool coat in an Op shop, which fits me wonderfully.

A pile of 40's and 50's knitting pattern for 50c.

A few spice canisters for $10. Maybe I'll find the rest someday.....

A lady gave me this for free at a garage sale. It's not drop dead gorgeous but still a nice little 60's brooch.

I'm in love with these 50's handpainted glasses I found for $2 each. I sooooo wish the rest of the set were there.  Again, maybe one day I will find more of them!

A vintage birdcage wicker purse/bag. I have wanted one of these since forever, but have seen these bags for sale on Etsy for up to $150. Mine cost....... $1.

This 50's micro mosaic bracelet arrived to me in the mail as a gift from a lovely follower of this blog. She gifted it to me from her Mother's jewellery box after she died recently. I was deeply touched to receive it and love it to bits.

And I love this vintage cane basket I picked up yesterday for $2 at an op shop.  It came in very handy when struggling with library books!
What has everyone else been thrifting lately?

Orly Pinks X 3!

I did a small Orly haul the other day as they added a bunch of stuff to their discontinued section (Fowl Play is on there!)

These 3 colors are Pixy Stix, Hot Shot and Butterflies which I striped on with 2 coats each. I then stamped with Konad Warm Black and finished with a coat of Seche QD.

Orly are kindly sponsoring my AWESOME 3,000 followers giveaway with $80 worth of polishes!

I apologise for my too closely set photos, Blogger upgraded me to their "new improved" system which blows major HUGE chunks big time....and I still haven't got the hang of it.

A Yoplait Family Fun Picnic

Last weekend we were treated to a Family Fun Picnic Day sponsored by Nuffnang and Yoplait.

Of course, we all ate copious amounts of Yoplait yoghurt.

Petted cute little rabbits, baby duckies and hairy goats!

Read fascintaing facts on our yoghurt lids.

Miss 10, Miss 3 and Miss 10's friend all had their faces painted and gorged themselves on crepes.....maybe I did a little bit too! They had Nutella and strawberry ones for goodness sake!

We were also given a Yoplait picnic pack which included a rug for the grass, a frisbee, hat and.....yoghurt!! Along with the face painting,  jumpy castle, carnival games, magician, petting zoo, crepe man and snack stall, we were also treated to a French baguette lunch with rolls, chocolate croissants and fruit. Yum much?

Thanks again to Yoplait and Nuffnang for a lovely day!

Dollish Polish FIRE IN THE NIGHT SKY Trio

In my last order with Dollish Polish, I added the mini 'Fire in the night Sky' trio and I am glad I did! Each color is designed for layering, making the color combo on these polishes limitless!

Aurora Australis: Flashes from Orange to Pink
Northern Light: Flashes from Green to Gold
Aurora Borealis: Flashes from Blue to Purple

As you can see, I striped all of them in one hit over Orly Plum Noir. The effect was stunning and I had a woman grab my hands while shopping (so glad I carry hand sanitiser gel in my handbag).

And Orly Plum Noir all by itself.

Dollish Polish is sponsoring my AWESOME 3,000 FOLLOWER GIVEAWAY and these minis are some of the colors you could choose if you win! Thanks again to Dolly!

Nerd Lacquer Cyance Friction

How totally gorgeous is this color? I am loving Nerd Lacquer's glitter bombs lately. I scooped this up the last time her Etsy shop opened along with a couple of other babies!

Opaque in two coats, and unarguably fabulous.  Above pics were taken in natural sunlight, bottom pic was taken undr artificial light.

Freddies Of Pinewood from Miskonduct

I LUV my Freddies of Pinewood overalls. I am aware they aren't the BEST thing for little old me to be wearing, but I honestly DO NOT care. I luv them to bits and wear them constantly during the colder months. I even have 2 pairs exactly the same for when one of them are in the wash.......

Gotta get that belt tighter!

I SAID TIGHTER!!!!!!  ( The belt was a mistake)

You can find Freddies of Pinewood stock at Miskonduct clothing. With my last order from Miskonduct I included the Selvedge jeans (blog post coming soon!) and am desperately lusting after the Utilities.

Pretty & Polished Candy Coated

I am so loving these Indie creations...and spending way too much money in the process!!

Chel from Pretty and Polished is my go to for soft, pretty, pastel glitter colors and Candy Coated is my new fav pink. Chel says: Candy Coated is a sheer pastel pink polish with a mix of light pink prism medium hex glitter, purple prism medium hex glitter, small purple glitter and even smaller purple prism glitter.

This is 2 coats with a coat of Seche QD. It dries fairly flat so only 1 coat of topcoat is needed. In shaded natural light.

And in full sunlight.

A Glitter Bomb Franken w You Mix Cosmetics!

I made an awesome Flakie/Glitter franken which looks 10 times better than my photos show.

I mixed Esmalte Especteral in with some color shifting gold to green glitter in a clear top coat.
This glitter is the same as Ozotic Pro use for their Elytra polish range.

Above photos taken in natural shaded light.

In full sunlight. It is full of flash and shine. I think it's gorgeous!

And it was layered over a coat of Chemistry 526, a gorgeous dark black holo.

Glitter was purchased from You Mix Cosmetics, which is very generously sponsoring my 3,0000 follower giveawayYou Mix has an array of flakies and glitter for our frankening pleasure!!
