The Melbourne Love Vintage Show

On the weekend Melbourne held it's very first 'Love Vintage' Fair which was very exciting. I do several Melbourne shows a year with my glasswork and I can say with some limited experience that this Show was extremely well organised. The 50 Exhibitiors had fantastic stock, the fashion parade from Circa Vintage Clothing was entertaining and the layout was easy to navigate. As a bonus you could get your hair and makeup done in Vintage style by The Lindy Charm School for only $25!

The Sexiest Man On The Planet looking.....well, sexy. He's so cute, he got his photo taken several times by other stall holders and customers. He was feeling a bit special.

A quick family shot of us..the best that we could get with a fidgeting Miss 3.

Onto the Fashion Parade photos!  The sun was shining right at us, making photo taking a nightmare.  Please click on the pics to see them in full size and a lot clearer.

If only we could all look like this when we pop off to bed!

The very lush Fiona.

I Love this whole look.  I love her hair, face and dress.  It's more 30's style and wouldn't suit me but ideally I would love this haircut.

The sexy Luxe.  The husband got nudged a few times in the ribs whenever Luxe came onto the stage.

Initially you think this 40's nurse's uniform is a bit drab....but after thinking about it, it's got a nipped in waist and a semi plunged neckline, which with the right boobs and some Victory Rolls would have been very appealing to the poor old soldiers getting fixed.

Love this shot!

And love, love, love this dress Ezther is modelling.  Very ME and I want it badly...just need a 24" waist.

This dress was beautiful IRL and looked gorgeous on.  It sashed up on the bottom and you could faintly see the red lining underneath.  The husband's and my best pick for the parade.

Candice working that bottom in that super sexy cheetah print swimsuit!  I hope she bought it afterward cause it looked great!

Cinderella off to the ball.

Not my Era but doesn't she look FAB?

All this and many more...I didn't want to overload Blogger with all my photos!
So, what bargains did I get? You will have to wait till tomorrow!

I apologise to all my non Vintage followers but this is everything but nail polish week as I still don't want to remove my super blingy in-ya-face gold glitter!  4 days and no tipwear at all!

Gary Numan

WHO??? I hear you ask! Gary Numan...you know, Cars? Here in my car, um um um umm...just listen here:

Know him now?

We went to see him in concert at The Forum last week! He has been producing CD's since the 80's but he became popular again in 2009 when his latest music attracted the young punk crowd. At his 2009 Melbourne concert the audience was full of teenage goths and punks. This time he concentrated on his earlier work, which is what we like best, and the audience was back to 30-40 year olds!

There's Gazza.

The bass guitarist threw me both his guitar picks....I have a sneaking suspicion he was trying to get them into my cleavage.

What did I wear? It was hard cause I just don't have black stuff...I'm not Goth or Punk, don't own a pair of Demonia boots or even a black lipstick...so I went for the Criminal Damage Alice in Wonderland dress with my red frilly petticoat and Playing Cards stilettos.

So, who's thinking I'm a great big huge bogan right now??!

A Multilayered Gold Bling In-Ya-Face SPECTACULAR!

This manicure turned out fantastic and I do not want to take it off. Be warned...there may be outfit and other such posts for the next couple of days until I decide to remove this one!

I needed something super glittery to match my 50's lucite handbag (more on that later) as I was off to a Vintage Fair today.  First I started with 2 coats of Konad Gold. By itself it's marvellous, look at that scattered holo glitter!

Then added 2 coats of OPI Sparkle-icious.  Not quite 'bling-y' enough I'm afraid.

So I layered a coat of Lancome Triple Tenue, which are gold flakes in a clear base. Finished it with a coat of Seche QD.  Click on the pics and make them big!
MUCH, MUCH more sparkly and wonderful in real life...you will just have to take my word for it.
So, including my base coat, this mani is 7 coats deep....but oh, it's so good!

Which combo are you guys loving lately?

Bloom Osaka

It's so cold here and I'm lacking motivation to do anything. I just want to huddle in front of the heater and watch The Borgias. This isn't really possible with Miss 3, so when Nanny took her for the morning yesterday so I could get "some beads made"...I, uh, well.....did a hair mask, face mask, painted my nails and played with some new lippies...while watching The Borgias and then the first 2 episodes of Game Of Thrones.

Please don't tell Nanny.

This is 2 coats of the ever gorgeous Bloom Osaka. My bottle is several years old and the formula is only starting to thicken slightly now. The sparkle is lovely and the color divine. Yum yum.

I Konaded it with China Glaze 2030 and finished with 1 coat of Seche QD.

What do you guys do to chill out?  Guiltily or not?

BTW, My SIGMA brushes giveaway ends tomorrow...go enter!!

Borghese Mezzanotte Blue

I went to Melbourne yesterday shopping. By myself. With no kids. It was nice. I bought nail polish.

Two coats of Borghese Mezzanotte Blue which is a gorgeous inky blue. Only problem is that the formula was CRAP. Streaky and didn't paint well with it's completely dumb brush. And after two coats it looks just like black, more so in real life than in these photos, so that gorgeous inky blue color which was obvious in the bottle just disappeared!

I stamped with a new Bundle Monster plate in Konad White and finished with 1 coat of Seche QD. This was on sale at a chemist for $3 so I am glad I didn't pay full price.

So, did I just get a bung bottle of Borghese or do they notoriously have horrible formulas and brushes?

Nfu-Oh 18 & Giveaway Reminder

I normally do not do nudes or "why bother" polishes as the husband calls them. If you are gonna wear polish, wear it in color! But I got this Nfu-Oh really cheap from the Aussie distributor and thought I'd give it a go.

This was 2 coats of #18 and as you can see it really neded a 3rd, which I would have done if I wasn't stamping over it. I Konaded it with Warm Black and using a new Bundle Monster plate. One coat of Seche QD to finish.
I really love this manicure and the black over the nude really pops. Even the husband admits that this particular design of a nude color isn't too bad.

My Sigma brushes giveaway ends in a few days, so please head over HERE and enter if you haven't already. Thanks!

My New Favourite Bernie Dexter Dress!

OK, I know I said last time that it was my fav Bernie Dexter dress, but this is my new, NEW favourite one!  Please click on the pictures to see them bigger and appreciate the pattern in this fabric.

Just released recently, I got it before her price rise but even at the new prices, this dress is totally worth it. My only problem is that it's too big for me on the shoulders and the straps fall down, so I've had to hide it with a cardi until I get it altered. It works out as good timing as it's freezing cold here and I need a cardigan anyway!

At the time the shoes I wore with this looked great.  But looking back on these pics, they didn't really match it somehow......I'm now on the lookout for a pair of Bottle Green pinup ones!  Anyone got any suggestions?

Dress: Bernie Dexter 'Blaize' in Landscape
Cardi: Seven Angels, Bendigo
Hair Flower: Dynamite-Darlin
Shoes: Firetrap 'Lynx'
Stockings: Nude fishnets with black back seam, Bearflag Republic
Crinoline: eBay UK
Jewellery: Made by ME!

Nfu-Oh 44

This had been on my wishlist for quite a while when a recent swap finally had it in my hot little hands!

I thought it would be quite sheer but this was a surprising 2 coats and no base color was even needed. It's a lovely hot orange Tomato red filled with orange flakies. No heavy Konading to cover this so I did a little bit of Purple fretwork pattern in the corner of each nail. One coat of Seche QD to finish. All pics taken in sunlight and no flash.
