Polkadots & Gingham

This outfit turned into a bit of a jumble.  It looked better in my mind than it does looking back at these photos!   The hair needs the roots done very badly and the fringe desperately needs a good chop.  Get me to a hairdresser quick!

(P.S, Is it normal to tire of red hair so quickly?)

  1. Ooohh, fear not, dear gal, it this outfit looks thoroughly fantastic! The overall black and white color palette helps keep it really cohesive, while your (darling!) shoes and headband inject a zesty hit of fun colour.

I've had hair colours I've tired of after just a few weeks. Sometimes - much as you love it initially - a hue loses its appeal quickly. There's nothing wrong with that. What colour are you feeling pulled towards next?

    1. I think just back to my original color. The husband misses it!

  2. You look great! Love the pattern combos.

I just got my hair cut and the hairdresser truly messed up. She was too busy "talking" (more like yelling) with the other hairdressers. Not going back there again.

  3. I have been a faux redhead for over 20 years, and have observed you are either a dedicated redhead or not..... that being said- you look fabulous in the coppery goodness Carli! (the upkeep is a pain in the arse I know, lol)

    1. I cannot imagine upkeep going on 20 years! I only started dying my hair 2 years ago, so this is all still kind of new!

  4. I think you look lovely! The thing with red hair for me is I periodically think I want it, then feel pretty meh about it quickly. So what I apparently want is red hair that comes with someone else's head/coloring/face/etc. LOL So I have to settle for a red-free head! ;)

  7. Noooo, the hair still looks fab, don't tire of it. The dress rocks, killer heels and how sweet is that little hat. I am really loving little vintage head bands at the moment.

  8. Absolutely gorgeous!

As for tiring of red hair...I think I am the wrong person to ask. I was born with practically fluro orange hair. It started to fade when I was 12 and have been dying ever since.

  9. Oh but your hair looks so good red! Although I understand, I had red hair for a few years (around the time the film Perfume came out I went to the hair dressers and got them to dye my hair in an identical shade to the girl in the film!)and it really was such hard work to keep it looking good. In the end I gave in and went blonde and have been ever since!
That long sleeved shirtwaist dress is absolutely marvelous, I am a little sad to be missing out on winter dresses :P

I hope you have an AMAZING time in HK! Sun dresses are the way to go and don't forget the sunscreen like I did :P Oh and drink A LOT of water, don't go anywhere without a drink bottle, my partner and I learned about this the hard way and got pretty sick from the heat - which is pretty crazy for two Australians haha. If you get the chance I highly recommend visiting the bird garden, I think Miss 5 would love it! Hope you have an absolutely wonderful trip :D
