OPI Red My Fortune Cookie

I have a plan to try all my untrieds! It's driving me crazy that I am purchasing more polish than I am actually using...but a self imposed polish ban does nothing so I'm not even going to try.
OPI Red My Fortune Cookie is a knock em in yr face, drop dead, bright as hell RED! My husband whistled and said he had never seen any red so bright before! Once I added the Konad, the red had dimmed to a normal red and I was a bit disappointed! It's definately a color to be worn on it's own.
2 thin coats for opaque-ness, then I added Konad white and Black with 1 coat of Seche QD.

Catrice Swatches

Here are my swap Catrice swatches from the lovely Iris.

I'll start with my favourite, The Devil Wears Red. This color, formula and application is FAB. It's a dark vamp JELLY and my first Vamp non creme so I was very excited. This was 2 coats, it prob needed a third but I quite liked the almost sheer vampy look 2 coats gave. Just yummy.

Lost in Mud, 2 coats. My first Taupe-y brown and I really love this color and it suits my skintone.

Sold Out Forever, 2 coats. Despite loving it and it being a beautiful color with a slight shimmer, it looks horrible on my hands like all mint greens do.

Poison Me Poison You, 2 coats. This bottle unfortunately arrived damaged with the cap broken and leakage so it has to stand upright! A beautiful Purple which my camera had a hard time capturing. No red/blue shimmer like ChG Let's Groove but a gorgeous color in it's own right.

Man-Go Tango, 2 coats. A bright almost Neon Orange. Nice application but again it needs 3 coats to be opaque.

I Scream Peach, 2 coats. I really like this color! It's not apricoty and horrible for my skintone but a nice mixture in between sickly and Orange...if that makes sense. I'll be using this color a lot come Summer.

Hong Kong!

I finally downloaded my HK pictures! This was my third time in HK but the first time I have gone polish searching! I found some HK based polishes...but not a real lot which was a bit disappointing. And while nail stamping plates can be found by the thousands on eBay FROM Hong Kong.....once you GET to Hong Kong, you can't find ANY of them!! Why is that??!!
There were 2 Chemists (Drugstores) that were found in every street, Watsons and Sasa, and they stocked a huge array of wonderful Asian cosmetics and medicines. I could have stayed in them for hours. I stocked up on Seaweed and Charcoal face and eye masks, Disney and Hello Kitty bandaids (they were for the KIDS!), false eyelashes, lip glosses, etc etc. Even in retail stores, everything is so much cheaper than in Australia. Example, I needed EarPlanes for the trip home cause I was sick and my ears were blocked, these things are $16 in Oz and in HK they were $3.50! Us Aussies are ripped off so much in every aspect of living lives...it's so annoying!!

One of the things I love doing while in HK is taking pics of funny English signs, a bit like I Can Haz Cheezeburger! HK is excellent with their English signage (unfortunately) but I managed to get a couple of shots while in China for the day. I present to you:

I had to buy this for the hubby.

Anyone up for pinky nipples???

Nice refreshing water!

We did the Harbour night cruise for 2 hours and it was nice sitting in the boat watching HK turn from day to night.

And afterwards I even got a free hug:

We all tried in vain to get Big Buddha to sit on our hands. My sister Zoe doing a Big Buddha FAIL:

And we even saw Britney Spears in China!!

And my very relieved to see her Mummy again lil' Muchkin, in a new Princess dress eating a Minnie lollipop!

I'll post swatch pics within the next few days of my favourite polishes I picked up from Sasa.
So after 3 visits to wonderful Hong Kong, I think I'm ready to move on to another Country. I'm thinking Singapore with the kids? Anyone been there??

Swaps!

Recently I completed 2 swaps from other lovely bloggers. I was Lemming some Catrice polishes and the lovely Iris agreed to swap and here is what she generously sent me:
Catrice Poison Me Poison You, Man-go Tango, I scream Peach, Sold Out Forever, Lost in Mud and the Devil Wears Red. Essence holo glitter, effects topcoat and some groovy stickers. I cannot wait to do mani's in each of these, they are all so beautiful! She also sent me Dutch's best Peppermints and they truly are the nicest I have tasted. Not hot at all and very sweet, if you have the chance to sample these, make sure you do!
Thank you so much Iris for your wonderful package!

And I was spoilt rotten by the wonderful Carolina at http://coloresdecarol.blogspot.com,
who sent me polishes from my wish list! I finally got my little hands on OPI Aragon Tomorrow, Orly Royal Navy, China Glaze TMI and CC What a Drag! She also naughtily sent some wonderful glitters, like ChG Golden Enchantment which I had been debating about getting but it's so gorgeous IRL, and Pure Ice colors along with some yummy lollies which my kids promptly devoured. I just wish I hands 4 hands so I could get mani's done more quickly!!
Thanks Carolina so much for swapping with me! I promise to post swatch pics soon!

OPI DS Designer Swatches

I recently did an eBay haul on DS Designer colors as I'm going thru a major Holographic Lemmings stage at the moment. The colors I picked are Diamond, Exlcusive, Desire and Sapphire. Glamour is still on my Wish list but I've been unable to get one....still looking!
These are all 2 coats, no top coat. Click for much bigger pics.

Diamond. A very pale Tan with slight holographic effect, more Shimmer than Shine if you like. Much nicer on the nails than in the bottle.

Sapphire. A light Blue Holo with beautiful holo shine. Absolutely stunning in the bottle but the color just blows on my nails and looks horrid! I tried to Konad it up a bit but still hated it.

Exclusive. Burgundy with lots of Rainbow shine and Shimmer. Boom-chuka-wowwow! This is what I was expecting from Extravagence and never got..lots of magnificent Rainbow holo! Lookee at that shine!

Desire. Brown Holographic. Look at that Rainbow shine! Pale Brown in one coat, turns a nice dark color after 2 coats. Lots of Shimmer and shine, I'm loving it.

BYS False Eyelashes

I had the chance to dress up this weekend, something that doesn't happen very often and when it does I usually pull some falsies out. These are from Aussie brand BYS. They are super thick, long and have rhinestones on the top...just my style! They were a little over the top but I had heaps of comments which was nice. If you want people to stare at your eyes (and not yr boobs for a change), get these lashes!
The pics are a tad 'come and get me' style, the hubby was having fun capturing lots of cleavage.

The glue was nice and thin, not gloopy at all, and the lashes stuck after about 30 seconds. They lasted a 12 hour day and the last pic was taken at the end of that day (so pls excuse the shininess). They were a little long for my eye shape, I'll trim them a little before a reuse. They lasted fine and came off nicely with no mis-shaping so can definately be used again, unlike other brands I have purchased in the past.
For my Aussie girls, these can be purchased online at fashionaddict.com.au. I purchased these and they were not sent to me for review.
