I have previously been sent nail strips for review before and elected not to post about them. Probably because I truly suck at putting them on....and partly also because I can achieve the same look with Konad stamping, so it's not worth the time or effort putting on stickers.
But these rad looking things arrived so I took myself out of my comfort zone and took them for a spin. Application was pretty easy; Just find the strip that fits your nail, peel it off and stick it on. Take off the protective top layer and trim to fit your nail edge. File gently to get a smooth finish.
The top photos are immediately after application. I wished I had known that a good tip for these is to run a slightly nail polish remover wet cotton ball over them before top coat, to rid of wrinkles and seal onto the sides. I think they would have looked even nicer if I had done that, but overall I was pretty impressed with my amateur application!
Day 2
In this time I washed my hair and sanded down 4 Bakelite bangles. Sanding down plastic is hard work and tough on the hands so I am impressed they lasted this well!
Day 5.
This is the result after 5 days of washing dishes several times a day, 2 hair washes, sanding down jewellery, melting glass several times and making beads and general day to day wear. Altho looking slightly worn this close up, at a reasonable distance away they still looked perfectly fine. I removed them at the end of Day 5 as I was just chomping at the bit for new nails and not because they needed it.
Needless to say I am very surprised that nail stickers can survive so long and I am looking forward to testing out my second pack OMG sent me.

They really are rad - a bit like art deco fish scales. Very, very cool!!!

That's impressive after five days!
ReplyDeleteThose are totally cool. I've tried some nail stickers from Micheal's and they held up pretty well for a $2 product.
