My goodness, I bought this 1940's dress set sooooooooo long ago and I only just pulled it out of the wardrobe now to wear! Does this mean I have too many clothes?
I am a HUGE sucker for front pockets.
It has rhinestone buttons and I'm wearing bakelite cherries!
This brooch arrived with a cherry floating around in the box. If you are in the market for a dangling cherries piece, please inspect the string attaching the bakelite balls very carefully before buying. If buying online, make sure you ask the seller if the strings have the green plastic missing and if there is any wear to the exposed strings before bidding.
I got more comments wearing this set from anything else I've worn for a while. It's become a little tight in the waist area.....but I am trying to work on that!

You look gorgeous! I love polka dots too. I'm keeping my eye out for a brooch like yours. It's so cute.
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to add front pockets to some of my skirts but I am terrible at placing them. All of the skirts Ive made do have side seam pockets and it is so nice to be able to tuck things in there.
I LUV polkadots! Not so much now as I used to as polkas can be very "rockabilly stereotyped"....and I just can't be stereotyped. Kudos for being able to make your own clothes, I can't even sew on a button.
DeleteGorgeous as always! I only buy dresses and skirts with pockets these days. (Unless it's something more formal.)
ReplyDeleteI magically found a pair of Irregular Choice shoes in my size that had been on my radar for $15 bucks at my favorite crazy store. They buy things that haven't sold from retailers all over the country and sell them for at least 75% off retail. One of my favorite finds ever!
ARGH, what a BARGAIN! I owuld be trolling that store everyday.....
DeleteYou look absolutely darling!
ReplyDeleteThanks hun!
DeleteUtterly and completely gorgeous! This set looks fantastic on you. The white and red are so bright, cheerful and fun, and really work beautifully with your hair and skin tones. Stellar outfit from top to bottom - Bakelite cherries very much included.

THanks Jessica! White is a color I have never worn and purposefully steered clear of.....especially with 2 kids! But this outfit has changed my mind. Altho, that being said....I won't be actively seeking out anything white.
DeleteAnother perfect outfit! LOVE the dress!
ReplyDeleteThanks Esz! x
DeleteYou should wear this style often. Perfect for you. Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa, I will endeavour to buy more dress/bolero sets!
DeleteOh my gosh this is soo cute! i love the cherries and the collar, and the pockets and... oh heck the whole outfit is fabulous
