Models Own Haul & Swatches
This is one of the few reasons why I am on a self imposed polish ban for awhile. Models Own had a 50% off sale a couple of weeks back and I did a smallish haul. In order they are:
Top Turquoise, Fluro Orange, Purple Grey, Cherry Pie, Pink Punch, Nude Beige, Peacock Green and Slate Green. I also got some awesome and huge false eyelashes with glitter on them, a free black eyeliner, mascara and 3 piece eyeshadow brush set.
Onto the Swatches!
Fluro Orange. Blimey, this is bright! I didn't actually order this one but some other orange color. I'm not bothered about emailing and sending it back so I have another fluro orange for my collection....I seem to be collecting them! This was 3 coats. Formula was thick but still sheer for some weird reason, so 3 coats were still needed. Excuse the boo-boo on my ring finger, I knocked it on the camera before it dried.
Cherry Pie. A deep shimmery Burgundy Brown. This comes out more brown than Burgundy on the nail under natural light. This was 2 coats.
Peacock Green. A mermaid shimmering Teal. Almost the same shade as Revlon Tropical Teal. If you have a shimmering Mermaid color in your collection, you won't need this one as well. 2 coats and needed a third.
Top Turquoise. I love this color! A perfect bright Turquoise creme that looks FAB. This was 2 coats but the photos are showing dragging near the cuticles, so I should have done a third.
Nude Beige. This is a perfect nude color and will look great with black Konading! 2 coats. First pic no flash, flash in second pic and is more color accurate.
Slate Green. Almost jellyish is formula, this is a dirty turquoise green. A gorgeous color in it's own right but I swatched it right after Top Turq and I'm afraid Top Turq pooed all over it! This was 3 coats.
Purple Grey. I'm not too sure why this is called Purple grey...it looks just like a milky brown to me...? I don't own a sheer purple effect topcoat to test it out as a Chanel Paradoxel dupe, so I added some China Glaze 2030 Konading and made it my manicure for the day. This was 2 coats with 1 coat of Chimera Quick Dry.
I hope this helped you choose some nice colors for your next Models Own haul!

I love Fluro Orange and Slate Green!
ReplyDelete:O! Cherry Pie! Stunner! And Peacock Green! I've been needing/lemming a peacock shade of green for my collection for a while, there's a similar shade to this by Rimmel 60 Secs. But Peacock Green looks ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL there.
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone!
ReplyDeleteJoan, I have Revlon Tropical Teal up for sale on my blog page...it's pretty much the same color as Peacock green!
All Models Own's fluro/neon colours dries a bit satin-matte. Topcoat is a must! I do love that orange one, but my favourite is their neon coral one called "pink punch".
ReplyDeleteGreat haul.....I like the turquiose and the slate green.
